Today, more and more students use technology around the world. Technology provides more benefits to teachers, students and education. According to the article, “Bringing Technology to the Classroom”, the author pointed out that one step in transforming education is ensuring that all schools are ready to embrace and use technology. Technology plays an important role in modern society. Schools teach students technology skills that will help prepare students to succeed in a rapidly changing world. The poll, which surveyed 883 parents and 812 public K-12 teachers, determined that 96 percent of teachers and 91 percent of parents think that applying technology to teaching and learning is important to the education of American students today. More than half of both audiences also believe that technology will play a much bigger role in educating students during the next decade (Technology In Schools).
Although there has been a strong push to get educational technology into the hands of teachers and students, many obstacles to implementation still exist. Some students do not have the Internet access at schools or homes. Software often poses problems for teachers in the classroom, and technical support may be unavailable. Teachers do not know more technology skills. Schools do not have enough money to provide upgrades, maintenance, and professional development. These are some problems to hinder students getting good education. If students want to still learn technology skills, we need to solve these obstacles to achieve sustainability. We need to make some plans that can make students can get a good education in the future.
To transform education for the 21st century, we need to rethink learning, rethink schools, and take advantage of all of the resources available. If we want to get sustainability of technology education, we need to find out problems or obstacles. Educators or governments need to use some good ways solving these problems or obstacles. After we solve thees problems, we can give a good future to students and make students get sustaining education. In the blog, I want to focus on the how to achieve sustainability of educational technology, and plan for the future. Firstly. I point out that some obstacles that hinder our technology education, and affect the future planning. Then, I will discuss some ways to solve these obstacles to help school to achieve sustainability of technology education and plan for the future. Finally, I want to discuss that who can help schools plan technologies for the future. In my mind, “Sustainability: Future Planning” of educational technology core issues is very important in the future education, so we need to focus on it.
